Stressed

It is only the second day of this week and I am already stressed out. It is like all of the teachers waited until this week to just through everything one you, every assignment is due. I already need another break! This week with lesson plans due, the second draft of the BPH is due, I am just overwhelmed, but I just keep thinking that after this it will be okay again. By doing this lesson plan, I began to understand the importance of literacy instruction within all grade levels (standard 3a2), but now I am starting to realize it. I am already so ready for this week to be over, where is the next break???

  1. Don't worry I think it's safe to say that it feels like ALL of these assignments are starting to smack us right in the face. It's hard to know which way is up. You do have a great point though about the importance of literacy instruction within all grade levels. You can do this and just remember Easter Break is right around the corner so another little time to take a deep breath is relaxed is right around the corner. So deep breath and happy thoughts. You've got this.😉

  2. I feel the exact same way, Alanna! There is so much due, it's ridiculous! But, we are going to get through this! I encourage you to take each assignment one day at a time, one assignment at a time. Choose the one that is due the earliest and then work on that one to get it out of the way. That way you're prioritizing, getting your work done, and reducing stress!

  3. Ha, I totally feel the same way. It wasn't much of a break but at least it's almost over. Keep your head up and remember what the outcome of all these struggles are for, to be an awesome teacher someday (At least this is what I'm telling myself daily lol).

  4. Alanna,
It is definitely overwhelming at times, as the teaching profession will be. However, it sounds like you are learning how to be a better teacher even amidst the stress. Incorporating literacy into these lessons was tricky for me at first as well (my content area is music), but like you said, this really helps with understanding how literacy can fit in to every content area. Best of luck to you for the rest of the semester!
